How to keep visitors on your website, Part 6 of 6: Reader’s interactions

By Karmen Van Der Westhuizen

Ideally you would want visitors to stick around on your website and this will only be done if you interact with them and tell them what to do next. Here are a few examples on how you could interact with your website viewers:
• Encourage readers to read a specific post on your blog or website by linking it to the page they land on with either a specific word or image.
• Ask readers to share their thoughts in the comments section at the end of your blog posts.
• Direct readers to free videos that are hosted on your site.
Keep in mind that your website visitors are not mind readers. So if you would like them to perform a specific action to keep them around for longer, don’t hesitate to tell them what you want.

The solutions mentioned above should help to improve the performance of your website, but you might still need to do a detailed investigation on Google Analytics to see which section of your site is suffering and how to fix it. With a bit of experimenting you will find the right combination that works best for you and your visitors.
