By Karmen Van Der Westhuizen

After all the blood, sweat and tears your website is finally complete. Now how do you keep people on your website?
High bounce rates, i.e. the percentage of people who do not go further than one page on your website, is a big problem for small companies. There are a few factors that could be driving your visitors away.
To find out if your website does need help, you can log in to Google Analytics to check the bounce rate for your website. If the bounce rate is higher than 50% – 60% of your traffic or the average time-on-site is less than 1 minute you need to change a few things.
Over the next few weeks we will be giving you a number of simple solutions to fix this problem.
These solutions include:
• Using multimedia.
• Making your website more pleasing on the eye.
• Adding external links.
• Using a ‘related posts’ plugin on your blog.
• Interacting with readers.
