All work and no play

There is little doubt that mobile access to business technology makes us all more productive, but the question has to be asked is it having a negative effect on our work/life balance?
While recently on a week-long holiday, I found myself accessing my work emails at least once a day and responding to the ones I felt couldn’t wait. In fact, I make a habit of checking my emails late each evening and again as soon as I wake up. It is vital to have access to your CRM solution and work email account via your mobile device, but is it really making life easier or do we face stress-related illnesses and burnout?
Here are 3 key ways to relax both in and out of the office:
1. Exercise – even a 15 minute walk around the block or to get lunch will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
2. Healthy food – make sure you eat a healthy lunch and plenty of fruit during the day. Low blood sugar can lead to elevated tension and increased stress levels.
3. Music/quiet time – background office noise can be particularly stressful to some individuals. Put headphones on with some relaxing music or sit in a quiet room for a few minutes to help distress and improve focus.
